Do I have to crate my product?

If your shipment is to be moved via a standard carrier it must be crated first. If you are moving your motorcycle within the continental US our uncrated motorcycle shipping rates will save you this cost.

For crated motorcycle transport, your shipment must be packed to withstand the normal hazards of shipping and when transporting to a location outside the US the materials used must meet importing regulations.

Who can I call to have my product crated?
JC Motors has a variety of crates available that can be delivered right to your door and require no tools! See our Pop-Up® crate page for a quick and easy crating option. In some cases, we may be able to pick up your freight uncrated, no matter what location, then bring it to our warehouse for crating. Ask your sales representative for more details.

Can I crate the product myself?
Remember, our goal is not only to make your shipment affordable, but to get it to you without damage. Your product should be crated by a professional. See crate services.

Can I just pick up a used crate at my local dealer?
No. Manufacturers crates are not designed to withstands the normal hazards shipping via interstate carriers. These disposable crates are usually designed with a light weight wood or steel frame and then covered with a thin cardboard. They may work ok for short moves, but these crates fail to protect the motorcycle in many cases, especially when moving inside a trucke where other freight is packed around or on top of yours. We want to see your motorcycle arrive safely. Saving a few dollars on your crate by using an old factory crate will often result in damage to your cycle. I would like to pay for the shipping charges when the product arrives, is that possible?
The drivers do not handle finances. All charges must be prepaid to JC Motors.

Does someone need to be present when the drivers show up?
Yes, someone must be available at the pickup and delivery location during the hours of 8-6 Mon. through Fri. International shipment times may vary.

I don't have a scale to weigh my package, how do I get the actual weight?
Find the weight of your cycle. All shipments are subject to re-weigh. If your package weighs more that you have reported to us, you will be charged additionally.

Do I need to write anything on the package?
Yes. Write the final delivery address on the outside of the package.

Do I need to do any special paperwork to ship internationally?
